About

Our story:

After years of working in the emergency department, we have seen what a burden it can be on families when their kids are sick. Pediatricians rarely have open appointments, and finding an urgent care where they have pediatric specialists is rare. Families spend hours waiting to be seen, and then have to drive to the pharmacy to pick up medications.

We started Seren Pediatrics because we understand that you want the best treatment for your kids, but getting quality urgent care isn’t quick or convenient. So we eliminate all the hassles of getting care for your child by bringing a full complement of urgent care services directly to your home, when your child needs it.

Justin Hoskins, MD

Hi! I’m Dr. Justin. I’m from Kansas City. I studied accounting in undergrad at the University of Kansas and then worked in tax consulting. It wasn’t the career I hoped. I reflected on some volunteering I had done and pivoted to pursue medical school. I enrolled in medical school at the University of Kansas. While there, I founded Students in Schools, a program where over 25 medical students go to urban Kansas City middle schools and teach monthly lessons on medical topics, and the program remains in existence till this day. I graduated from medical school in 2013 and then began pediatric residency at the University of Chicago, which I completed in 2016. After residency I began a career in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Carle Foundation Hospital, a level 1 Trauma Center in Urbana, IL. I started Seren Pediatrics in Chicago in 2022. In the Fall of 2023 I moved to NYC and work part-time at Bronxcare while launching Seren Pediatrics for families of New York.

I am passionate about providing all children with quality medical care and have have served on 11 medical service trips to Tanzania, Zambia, St. Lucia, the Dominican Republic and India.

I’ve been practicing medicine for 8 years, providing care for over 19,000 pediatric patients. I’m excited to welcome your family to Seren Pediatrics so we can lessen the burden of providing quality healthcare for your children.

Hi, my name is Caitlyn Oliver. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. I played soccer growing up and continued playing through college. I graduated from PA school in 2022 and since then I have been working full time as an Emergency Medicine PA.

I’m Dr. Cindy Rubin. I completed pediatric residency at the University of Chicago and have been practicing general pediatrics for over 13 years. During my 13 years as an outpatient pediatrician, I developed an interest in breastfeeding, and earned my certification as a lactation consultant in 2019. I then went on to pursue additional training in Breastfeeding Medicine, which became a board certification in 2023.

I live with my husband, two young children, and our feisty dog.  When I'm not enjoying the fun of seeing patients and running my practice, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, pretending to be a foodie, and traveling!

We are excited to have Dr. Rubin on the team. She will ensure our families are maximizing their breast feeding experience!
